Bishop of Kalookan Pablo Virgilio David installed Fr. Stefano Mosca as the chaplain of the newly-established Our Lady of the Poor – Pabahay Mission Station in Tanza on February 26.
In his homily, Bishop David said that his heart is full of joy every time the diocese opens a new mission station.
He added that having Fr. Mosca in the community will help the current parish priest of Sta. Cruz Parish, Fr. Romy Tuazon, evangelize the large number of faithful in Tanza, Navotas.
To date, the Tanza community’s population is 35,000, a huge number for one priest to handle.
The 88-year-old priest was previously assigned to a tribe in Zamboanga before being assigned as chaplain in the Diocese of Kalookan.
The mission station is under the patronage of Our Lady of the Poor, an apparition to an adolescent girl in Belgium — a Marian title that is close to the heart of chaplain Moscom.
The venerated image was donated by the Roque family of Malabon City.
